Privacy

CleanerUp is designed to keep analysis local and put you in control of what gets deleted or protected.
On-device analysis
Library scanning, similarity detection, duplicate hashing, contacts utilities, vault encryption, and compression run on your iPhone — not on CleanerUp servers.
Review before deletion
Galleries ask you to confirm before selected photos or videos are removed from your library.
Face ID and passcode
The Private Vault unlocks with biometrics and a passcode you choose. Vault files use AES-GCM encryption in the app container.
Photos and iCloud
CleanerUp uses Apple’s PhotoKit APIs. Loading some assets may use network access when items live in iCloud — standard Photos behaviour, not a separate CleanerUp cloud upload.

FAQ
Questions about CleanerUp
- CleanerUp is free to download. Core cleanup tools, contacts utilities, and the Private Vault are available without a purchase. Optional CleanerUp Premium is offered as an In-App Purchase. Starting Video Compress requires Premium; current pricing is displayed in the app and by the App Store.
- CleanerUp Premium is optional paid access managed through Apple In-App Purchases. Premium entitlement is used in the app to unlock gated Premium actions. As of the current release, starting Video Compress is gated behind Premium.
- CleanerUp currently offers a Weekly auto-renewable subscription, a Monthly auto-renewable subscription, and a Lifetime one-time purchase. Current pricing is displayed in the app and by the App Store and may vary by storefront and currency.
- Yes. Lifetime is a one-time (non-consumable) purchase. It is not a recurring subscription.
- No. Lifetime does not automatically renew. Weekly and Monthly plans are auto-renewable subscriptions managed through your Apple Account.
- Use Restore Purchases in the CleanerUp Premium paywall or in Settings. Restoration applies eligible purchases associated with your Apple ID, subject to Apple’s and Adapty’s supported purchase behaviour.
- Cancel Weekly or Monthly subscriptions in your Apple Account / App Store subscription settings. CleanerUp does not cancel Apple subscriptions from inside a separate CleanerUp billing portal.
- No. Deleting the app does not by itself cancel an active Apple subscription. Manage or cancel renewals in your Apple Account settings.
- Apple processes In-App Purchase payments and billing. CleanerUp does not collect or store payment card details.
- No. CleanerUp does not store payment card numbers. Apple handles checkout. CleanerUp uses Adapty to manage subscription status, paywall configuration, and Premium entitlement.
- No. Deletions happen only after you select items and confirm in the app. Cleanup categories and Quick Scan are built for review first, not silent removal.
- Yes. Galleries such as Duplicates, Similar, Videos, and Quick Scan let you browse, select, and confirm before anything is removed from your photo library.
- On the Optimize tab, Video Compress exports and re-encodes videos you choose. You pick a quality level and review estimates before starting. Starting compression requires CleanerUp Premium; the purchase flow is shown in the app when needed.
- Live Photo conversion turns a Live Photo into a still JPEG while keeping a copy you can review. You stay in control of what is saved or removed.
- The Vault is locked with Face ID and a passcode you set. Photos and videos you import are encrypted on device with AES-GCM before they are stored in the app’s secure container.
- CleanerUp requests read/write access to your photo library so it can scan for cleanup opportunities and save compressed or vault exports. Analysis runs on your device; the app explains why access is needed before you grant it.
